EXPOSED – SJP Arlington in Anti-Semitism Scandal

Dear Canary Mission Supporter,

What is it with Student for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Anti-Semitism? Canary Mission has uncovered scores of anti-Semitic posts including “Stuff Jews in the oven” and “Kill some Jews” among the social media pages of SJP activists at University of Texas, Arlington (UTA).

Our extensive investigation into UTA drew one main conclusion: the UTA chapter of SJP is a focal point for campus anti-Semitism.

Of 24 individuals uncovered, 19 (79%) were members of SJP.

In a dossier released on February 15th and first published in the Algemeiner, Canary Mission exposed 24 UTA students and graduates engaging in bigoted and anti-Semitic hatred. They repeatedly call for violence against Jews, curse Jews, and both deny the holocaust and champion a new Holocaust on Facebook and Twitter. Examples include:

SJP UTA student activist and pre-school teacher, Nancy Salem told her friend to go “kill some Jews!”

SJP UTA student activist and PANDORA Jewelry employee, Mariam Ghanem wrote “let’s stuff some Jews in the oven.”

SJP UTA student activist Ismail Said Aboukar tweeted “The world would be soooo much better without jews man.”

That so many students involved are member of SJP should come as no surprise. An October 2016 study released at Brandeis — called “Hotspots of Antisemitism and Anti-Israel Sentiment on US Campuses” — showed that the presence of an active SJP group on campus was, “one of the strongest predictors of perceiving a hostile climate towards Israel and Jews.”

Our UTA report follows hot on the heels of a shocking dossier on the University of Houston (UH) that drew the attention of university administration, Houston police, legal agencies and numerous Jewish community groups.

We hope that the UTA administration and Jewish groups will stand together in taking action against the university-sanctioned SJP chapter and its activists who threaten the safety of Jews and Israel supporters on their campus.

Canary Mission will continue to investigate and expose anti-Semitism across campuses in North America. Together, we can stem the tide of this wave of hatred.

Yours Faithfully,
The CM Team
